…Raisa is an avid, but mediocre practitioner of different martial arts and also enjoys playing the piano and accordion. These hobbies have been on hold, though for the last couple of years since Raisa became a mother and has been concentrating her limited free time on being present and enjoying to the maximum the baby-years of her daughter.

Raisa sits on the board of the Spanish chapter of FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, the world’s largest federation of professionals in the real-estate sector. She is often invited to give speeches, trainings and presentations in different forums.

Raisa likes networking and enjoys the opportunity to learn continuously from clients coming from dozens of different cultural backgrounds.

…Raisa is specialized in international investments and corporate law. She has two law degrees, one from the law school of Turku in Finland, and the other from the University of Lleida, Spain. After graduating from law school, she worked for the prestigious US law firm, Thatcher, Proffitt & Wood in Mexico City, and has worked for the past 12 years in Barcelona, first as in-house counsel for an IT company and then in local law firms before founding AvaLaw in 2007. Raisa works fluently in English, Spanish and Finnish, and in addition, can communicate in Swedish and French.

…Contrary to her office reputation as the efficient multi-tasker, able to handle numerous things at the same time, in her free time Lourdes has one mission and one mission only – dedication to her busy family.

…Lourdes has extensive experience in private civil law, real estate, company law and litigation where she stands out after 13 years of experience representing clients before the Spanish courts. She graduated with a law degree from Pompeu Fabra University (2000) and a master´s degree in International Business Law at the Barcelona Bar Association (2009). Lourdes worked for a Spanish Law Firm for six years dealing mainly with civil law, company law and litigation matters. In 2007,  she set up her own firm focused on advising foreign individuals and companies concerning their legal interests in Spain, and in 2013, she joined forces with AvaLaw.

She works in English, Spanish and Catalan.

Roser Coll

..Roser is spending time with her family. When in the company of her family, Roser finds that she can truly relax. She regards her family as her rock. You will often find Roser, her husband and children hiking, particularly during the winter, to beaches in Menorca that cannot be reached by car or purposely getting lost in the beautiful Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca.

Since she was a small child, Roser has been a bit of a sport fanatic. She used to do ballet, then turned her sights to tennis and other activities.

… Roser is specialized in foreign investment, real estate and wills & probate matters always with an international connection.

Roser graduated from law school at Pompeu Fabra University and International Business Law at Esade Business School in Barcelona. After her studies, she moved to work in the UK for law firms including Shulmans Solicitors and Cotton and Co., before finally becoming UK Business Development Manager for a Marbella-based law firm with offices in London and Manchester.

Roser is fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan.

Mar Rubí

…Originally from Palma de Mallorca, Mar is an avid and organized person, and her friends describe her as meticulous and perfectionist. You may find her walking around the streets of Palma de Mallorca and she is now very keen to discover new places in Barcelona and enjoys cooking. She loves travelling internationally and, when she is not working, you are likely to find her shopping shoes or eating in a good restaurant with her family and friends.

…Lawyer and Economist, Mar studied Law and Economics at ICADE, Madrid. After graduating she coursed a master in Executive Business Law in Garrigues, as well as a course in Bankruptcy Administration at ICAIB.

Since 2006 she is a member at ICAIB. She has worked at Julián Carnicero, Garrigues, Jorge Sainz de Baranda, and she was an in-house lawyer for Mercado Gastronómico de Sant Joan in Palma. Her working languages are Catalan, Spanish and English.

Alejandro Puyo

…Alejandro is passionate about reading, mountain hiking, and cooking, but, above all, his children. In addition, he currently spends any free time learning Catalan.

…Alejandro has been advising clients from a tax, finance and accounting perspective for more than 18 years. By getting involved in the business of each client, he is able to assist clients in making better decisions as well as helping them resolve their tax and accounting matters and questions. Alejandro seeks to act in a responsible and highly committed manner in all of the projects in which he participates.

Alejandro has an international profile with a high command of English and French. He earned his Law Degree from Universidad Complutense of Madrid, and holds Masters Degree in Business Law and in Tax Law from IE [Instituto de Empresa]. His work experience includes the prestigious international firms, Clifford Chance, Ernst & Young and PWC, and he joined the team of AvaLaw at the end of 2016. Alejandro asserts that a team effort is undoubtedly a basic element to ensure the achievement of a job well done for clients.

Alejandro speaks Spanish, English and French.

Julia Fredriksson

…Julia directs the Immigration Law Department at AvaLaw. Holding a law degree from the University of Barcelona and a master’s degree in European Union Law, Julia specializes in international law and immigration law and is one of the most experienced lawyers in Spain in investment-related residencies. During her eight years of work experience, she has successfully assisted numerous clients from a variety of countries overcome legal hurdles and manage their establishment of their residencies in Spain in the most advantageous of possible manners.

Julia speaks fluent English, Spanish, Catalan and Swedish, and can communicate in French.

Ángela Uribarri

…Angela likes to share her time with her two daughters and husband. The family enjoys outdoor activities in the mountains and at the sea. She likes to travel around Europe in her camper, discovering new places and local food.

…Angela keeps the AvaLaw back office up and running. She holds a degree in Information and Document Management and has worked in the communication and administration departments of several companies and institutions, including a museum in Madrid and an international magazine dedicated to architecture, art and design. Angela speaks Spanish, English, Catalan and French.

Noel Fraire

…Noel likes to cook, read and play sports. Although he spends most of his time studying law, he takes advantage of his free time to focus on historical and classic novels.

He also is passionate about sports, so every Saturday morning you can find him playing fronton, a racket ball game of Basque origin, with his schoolmates.

…Before starting as paralegal at AvaLaw in 2015, Noel worked in various customer service related positions along with advancing his studies since he was 16. He started as a waiter and ended up running a restaurant in the centre of Barcelona. During those years, he developed social skills that are highly appreciated by clients and by his colleagues at AvaLaw.

Noel is able to provide competent background support to his colleagues, including research, jurisprudence, data collection, and preparation of commercial profiles, given his legal studies and real life work experience.

Mai Chujo

…Mai loves reading [fictional and nonfictional novels, books on history, etc] and visiting new places. She has cultivated an enjoyment of travelling and, in her spare time, she enjoys playing sports with friends and discovering hidden corners of Barcelona. She has a great interest in film and has previously worked as a production assistant. Mai has volunteered as a translator for Global Lives Project and as an interpreting assistant for IESE Business School and Associació de Mestres Rosa Sensat.

…After graduating from the Pompeu Fabra University with a degree in Translation and Interpreting with English and German as working languages, Mai participated in a bilateral agreement with Bentley University (Massachusetts) in which she had the chance to study modern languages. Right afterwards, she took a postgraduate course in Fashion and Media Journalism 3.0 at IDEC and obtained a Master in Film and Television Fiction at Ramon Llull University. During her translation studies, Mai took a number of law courses, and she developed a keen interest in Immigration Law.

Mai has worked as a translator and editor for a number of magazines based in Barcelona, and also as an English teacher. She speaks English, Spanish, Catalan and Japanese fluently, and she can, also, communicate in German.

Marcos Andrade

…Marcos often goes cycling with this mountain bike in nature. At home, he takes care of his three aquariums and four times a week he volunteers to set up a stand for an elderly lady selling vegetables at one of the markets in Barcelona.

Marcos is a highly competent, motivated and enthusiastic administrative assistant with experience working as part of a team in different environments and fields. Well organised and proactive, he provides efficient and accurate administrative support to AvaLaw. Marcos has an approachable nature and a proven ability to generate solutions and anticipate problems. He speaks Spanish and Catalan.

…She likes to come to the office by bicycle and she is an advocate of healthy and organic lifestyle. She loves riding horses, playing tennis and walking around the streets of Barcelona with her dogs and her family. She enjoys the silence of the mountains and relaxing on the beach with a good book.

…She has always known that she is into numbers. Licensed in Business Sciences by the University of Ukraine, she did a Postgraduate Course in Financial Management and Management Control in Spain and now she has decided to further her studies and carry out a degree in Administration and Business Management. She has worked in different areas: law firms (Bufet Miralbell), consultancies, SMEs and multinationals (CCA International). From Ukraine, she speaks Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, English and Catalan.
